So, the other day i went to Target and I saw this cute little cheap bag...I figured it would be really nice to put a curent project in..I love it..It now has a hat project in there..

These hats i made have gone in the mail..I have 4 more hats in an envelope ready to put in the mail for Knots of Love..

Its a sunny and beautiful morning here so far..I need to go to the post office and maybe Michaels for a skein of yarn thats on sale..

right now i have a preemie blankie going, and a hat to finish..

Going to do some laundry, house is cleaned, hopefully it will be a nice day here of knitting and relaxing..

Hope you all had a great Christmas..It was quiet and nice here..I knitted on Christmas day and loved it...Praying this year is a good one for us all..

Been working on some more hats for Bridge and Beyond, one of my charities...Also working on hats for Knots of Love...Been working on some preemie items also, as you can see by the blankie pictured there..I love this yarn and color...Its soft yarn by lionbrand..Expensive, but with coupons and sales its doable...I finished 2 more hats today..I just finished a crochet preemie blankie, not sure what i will start next..

I treated my self to a little Christmas gift....I love this mug, wasn't looking for it...Was looking for a frosty the snow man mug, but when i saw this, i had to have it..Just brings a smile to my face..

So far its been a nice weekend..Not hot, but not cold either...

Yesterday i had errands to run, and since i was out, i went into Michaels..I had a 50% off coupon, love those and got one skein of yarn for a diagonal baby blankie i am doing.

Hoping today will just be nice and easy day, lots of knitting and maybe some HGTV watching...Its nice to settle in your fav chair and just go to work on your knitting..

Also working on some scarves and maybe a few fingerless mitts..

Here is the baby blankie i just finished, it was a shower gift, hopeing the mom to be will like it..

well its about that time to start another hat fest...For now though iam still knitting a simple prayer shawl for a friend who is not feeling good..
After that, i hope to start on the road to a hat fest...
Its been nice here lately, not hot, warm, nice..Although i like it cooler, so far its not been bad..
Havent been watching the news, cause it depresses me and scares me whats going on...Why cant they ever interupt for good news, a happy story..It seems its always doom and gloom...Praying things turn around for the better...
I got some yarn the other day, someone was kind to send me a card from joanns...So i went and got some pretty yarn, TLC baby..I love that yarn for chemo hats and baby hats...Love it! soft and its so strechy and nice..Will get more, when i can with coupons..For now iam happy with the 2 skeins i got..I have a hat started, wanted to see how the colors unfold, love colors...:-) But, i put it aside as i want to get the prayer shawl finished and sent...I sent a few envelopes recently with chemo hats, and sent some baby hats...So the suply is gone, but the shawl calls my name..I am not far from finishing, so thats good..

for Memorial day and in honor of our troups i decided to knit, red, white and blue hats..These will be going to a nearby hospital..

I am still doing hats for halos of hope and bridge and beyond..

I decided to start on some scarves, for giving to a few friends, and some for the homeless..I know summer is upon us, but, winter will be here soon..I want to learn how to do easy mittens also..I have a friend with fibro and her hands hurt her so much in the winter, maybe some mittens would help..We will see how that goes..

Its been lovely here, these last few weeks, although very windy..

well for April,i got lots of hats done, and did a shawl also..So my hat chalenge is coming along nicely..

Its been hot here lately and knitting hats is nice and easy, instead of working on some big blanket on my lap...

Its going to be lovely here this Wednesday, but hopefully a little cooler than the last few days..

So for May, i have a hat on the needles, want to start another preemie hat, and might just start another shawl...I was so nerved up on Sunday, i started a crochet shawl and finished it last night..Have to weave in the ends still..

i cant beleive it, but i did it..This is my first knitted baby hat..I am jazed about it..I need to learn how to use the double pointed needles, they are a thorn at my side...:-)
Anyway, i have done 3 hats, am knitting my 4th...Mistakes, yes, but you cant tell...i need lots of practice...When i get to the top, thats when i the double pointed needles are needed and things get a little funky...So i just weave the needle on all the stitches that are left and pull it tight and weave in the ends...
Hopefully i will get the hang of it all..

Wasnt going to do this blanket anymore, but i did...A friend had a grandaughter and i decided to do it..
Its a lovely morning here so far..I got all my spring cleaning almost done..I just need a few more cabinets to clean out and some drawers to organize...Will be finished over the weekend for sure..
I need to get some lemons from the tree and slice it up for the chicken iam making today..Just plain baked chicken with baked brocolli...Nothing fancy, but i like it..

wow, this was such a beautiful day! Blue skies, lovely sun, although a little windy, just a lovely Friday..I should keep my camera in my bag, cause today i saw such lovely wild flowers all over...I went to Home Depot to look for another little jade plant..I found it and love it..
Took the long way home, and went by the beach..Lot of people out and about doing their thing..Sail boats sailing away in the beautiful sunshine..
Baked a cake for a friend who is a little blue...We had a good laugh over some tea and cake..I bought this cute little planter, tiny, but cute and planted a house plant in it and gave it to my friend..Made her laugh and that was nice to see..

Made 4 more hats..These are going to a charity here in my town, which is a delight..I found it at the lion brand site and was so happy, decided to do a few hats for them..Will make a few more...I love how soft these turned out, i crochet them out of baby yarn..So not to hurt chemo patients i looked for some soft yarn, and i decided to go with the baby yarn..Hope it comforts who ever wears them..

Right now iam doing a few things, simple things but i am loving knitting..I love looking at knitting/crochet blogs and marvel all the beautiful projects they do..So much talent out there, very exciting..

Its been raining and windy here all day...It started last night..Its nice to get some rain, we so need it...Although it always causes trouble..
The sun is trying to peak out, but quickly goes into hiding...
I got some chicken this morning and baked it with some potatoes and that will be good for a few lunches, even Ruby loves it..Don't have to cook for a few days, so that's good..
Been knitting some solid squares, don't know what i am going to do yet, thinking of a throw..We shawl see where it leads..Also finished a preemie blankie and another hat..
Been looking through flikr at all the lovely knitting and crochet goodness..Lots of great talent out there..Raverly is a great one also for looking at lovely projects..

all, for your visits, and lovely comments...I started my hat fest a few days ago...I did all the scarves i am going to do, now switching gears to some hats...I have 6 so far...
I was sitting here, crocheting a baby hat early this evening and just started thinking what a big need there is for baby hats, toddler hats, blankies, squares and such...I was reading some of the charity groups on raverly, and its just sad to think so many go cold in the winter with no place to go to keep warm...Its just heartbreaking..Even here in southern Cali gets cold at night, so i can only imagine whats going on out there on the streets...It doesn't seem real...But unfortunately its very real...So happy that so many knitters and crocheters are doing their part to keep someone warm..Its just truly inspiring to read about it...It makes me happy that with our hands we can knit or crochet a little warmth...
I know you are all busy with Christmas preparations, and i appreciate you stopping by...

Hi everyone, i cant beleive its October already..Wow, thanksgiving next month...The weeks are flying..

I sent this shawl to a cancer center in memory of my mom who lost her fight almost 10 years ago..I miss her each and every single day..
Just a basic shell pattern...Prayed while i was crocheting it for the person who will wear it....Lots of love and hope in every stitch...

I stared early this year making scarves...Some have been mailed already..These were knitted..Its the only thing i can knit, scarves..
Right now crocheting hats, not to go with scarves though..

The fire devastation going on in southern cali is horrendous..Every year I am scared beyond beleif...We are so dry here! A few years ago we had a horrible fire here in the county and some people are still struggling through...I hope the fires get put out soon, I pray so..

Happy July everyone...Haven't been here in a while...I am still crocheting and now found a new passion for knitting scarves...Let me just say i don't knit, but i can knit scarves..lol....I find it relaxing also, but crocheting is still my fave..
Its been hot here lately, and i just don't do well with heat...I will do a few rows and then have to put my project down, cause i get so hot..
Right now I am working on a prayer shawl, its coming along nicely, but slowly...Its for a friend going through a bad health crisis right now..I want her to know that i am thinking of her and praying for her to be healed..I hope the prayer shawl brings her some comfort..Hopefully will take a pic when its done..
In between, knitting the scarves..I want to get an early start on scarves and its something you can do in the heat..

someone asked me what was on my hook, well here it is, baby hats.
Its a great weekend for crocheting baby hats...This batch is going to childrens hospital and hopefully Stitches from the Heart..
Also working on some scarves...There is always a need for scarves also..
Its been a nice weekend here so far..Its not hot, its not cold, just right..
I got some groceries early this morning, dont like going when its late in the day, when there are lots of people shopping..So going before 8 am works for me much better..
My friend came by and brought some potato salad, and i gave her a bag of lemons...We visited a while, and all to soon she had to go..
I gave her some yarn, she wants to try to learn to crochet..

Good Wednesday morning...Its finally cooled down today...Its been so hot, i cant stand hot weather....
Its windy and cloudy today and i am loving it...
Yesterday i went to run some errands, went to the post office to drop off some baby hats, then to the pet store for some food, and flea meds...I had a coupon for a free flea med, so of course i couldn't pass that up...The vet is inside the pet store, so that's even better..

I cant believe how fast the months are going...Its almost summer again...
I am crocheting a big throw for top of my bed so Ruby wont dirty my bedspread..It will be a while, since i am doing other things also..But its coming along nicely and its going to be colorful...:-)

Well i leave you with a pic of a blankie that i did for a friend of a friend..She is expecting her first daughter in a few months, and i am hoping she will like the blankie..I know of allot of people who don't like homemade items, but i am hoping she will..

Wow, its so windy again today...Its sunny though and its a beautiful day..
I got an early start and ran some errands and then went to the pet store and grocery store..
When i got back i started a load of laundry, well that load ended up being 3 loads..I found other stuff to wash, so why wait..
I finally got my room and closet cleaned weeks ago, so today started on the kitchen...I have been wanting to clean out the cubbards inside of all the old stuff..I didnt have anything to throw out, but it was nice to wash the cubbards with a wet sponge..I feels great to get things cleaned up..
I still have a bag of shredded stuff to throw out, and a few boxes to put in the trash...I have one big drawer i need to get cleared of junk, but it will wait for another day...I instead scrubbed the bathroom and kitchen down and i am pooped...All my window are opened and the nice breaze is coming in and my plants are loving it..
I got 2 baby blankies done and a few hats, also 2 preemie blankies..
Now working on a prayer shawl in memory of my mom...Its going to a Washington hospital for women going through gyno chemo..
I made some breaded chicken today... I put a piece of the breaded chicken on some sour dough bread, tomato, lettuce, mustard, a couple of pickles slices and a slice of provolone cheese....Delich! It sure hit the spot after a morning of cleaning..:-)
I still have a few more things to organize, but that will have to wait for another burst of energy on another day..

Working on a baby blankie right now...Sent in hats and squares to my charities..I have a blankie and more hats to send...
Its a beautiful day out today, sunny, and warm...All my windows are opened and the fresh air is coming through...Even my plants are loving the fresh air...
I finally organized, decluttered and cleaned out my room...My closet looks great, i love it..
I put some fabric softner sheets in the closet, under the bed and dresser...Right now it smells really good, just to bad it doesnt last long..

Its another beautiful day here in Cali, sunny and warming up..
I have so much to do still, but don't feel like it at all..I just want to sit and make some baby hats..But i promised myself i would declutter my room and get rid of stuff i don't need...I don't like clutter and my room has become a little cluttered....So, i started with the dresser drawers last week and now they are finished...The closet is a big project for me...I have bags of yarn, that i must organize...I bought 2 bins, and i will put the yarn in it so its not all over the closet floor...It will be nice and tidy..
Little by little i will get it done! I like simple as i am a pretty simple person also...Its a good thing i started early today and got a few things already done..I swept my room, and cleared a few more things out..Laundry is done and put away...I need to clear my printer area of junk mail...I don't know where to put the junk mail, so it goes on top of the printer...i should shred as it comes, but i never do, i just stack it..I need to get into the habit of getting rid of the junk mail as soon as it comes in...After that i will be done for today...
Going out to the back yard and pick some lemons, i think it will make my room smell heavenly...

since i have been here...I have been busy with a big granny square for a gift..
Its been a nice summer here, some days hot, some days mild..I like cool weather much better...I love the breezes coming in through my bedroom window as i sit and crochet in the evening..I cant wait for fall..

I want to crochet some scarves again this year for the homeless.. Fall will be here soon, but don't know the charity yet...I was thinking Warm Up America, that's one of my charities..
This year is especially important with the economy the way it is...
Some of us are struggling, and cant buy too much, but i don't want to let it stop me from doing what i can..My struggle cant compare to what a homeless person faces day in and day out..
One scarf will help a homeless person stay a little warmer......

Saturday morning i went in for an oil change....Then Target for a phone, mine died after 10 years...Then i went to Michaels for more yarn for the two shawls iam doing....They had such pretty art on sale, but i needed the yarn more..I need to go back and get some yarn for the hats, but i will wait for a sale..

Yesterday i was feeling restless, dont know why..Crocheting didnt even apeal to me, strange...I got all the cleaning and laundry done early, then i made some lemon cupcakes for a friend of mine...My friend got a new pup, and to celebrate i made her favorite lemon cupcakes..After taking the cupcakes over and visiting for a while i went to the store to pick up a few things...Of course the store is right next to Joanns and i had to go take a look..I got Baby Soft yarn in pink for another preemie blankie..
The best thing yesterday was that i sat in my favorite chair in my room and just crocheted the day away...I finished a blankie i was doing, and will start a new one with my pink yarn today...
It turned out to be a great Saturday after all...

Today i got a suprise in the mail...I got a huge box filled with yarn!!!!! A sweet angel named Lana, her blog is Knit and Pray, sent it to me....She said she was going to send a few skiens of homespun, but the box was filled with all kinds of yarn...There are a few skiens that i never even seen before called Lion Chenille, yummy, cant wait to try it..

this is the second homespun i made for one of my charities..This one is going for a foster child..Its warm and hope it comforts him a little bit...
I made a ghan out of homespun for a friend...She gets very cold in the winter with all the snow..I like working with the homespun, cause its soft and warm, and it has pretty colors...Although i have to get it when its on sale, cause its pricey...I hope they have a sale on it soon!!!

two more blankies made...I found these really cute colors several months ago at Joanns.I just love the colors, but when i went back for more, i couldnt find the fizzy print, the pinkish one..The blue one they still had, so i got a few more skiens..That one is called bunny print...Lovely colors for the babies..I just started a new blankie with the self stripping yarn, its just double crochet, but i really like the yarn...i think i will try to hunt for more of this Bernat stripping yarn and make a few blankies and hats.

Well, i commited myself to do 60 squares, it might be more, but hope its at least 60 squares...I get a newsletter from Bev, and she put out the need for some squares for charity...So far i have 4...
I am doing a baby blankie for a friend's daughter who just had a baby, so the squares will have to be inbetween that..
Its sunny here, and hoping it will warm up soon...Doing some laundry and the usual chores..
Thats about whats going on here, quiet, just how i like it..

Hope you are all having a Happy and safe Christmas..
Last year i was so sad, cause i was all alone with my doggie for Christmas....This year, i had family with me and it was 10 times worst than last year...I guess i just belong by myself....When i am by myself there is no screaming, loud voices or turmoil....Its lonely, but at least its better than the fighting, the anger...Its Christmas afterall, cant we just shut up and have a moment of peace..
As i get older, i dont want or need any more drama in my life...I just want quiet places to crochet and think of happy things, and snuggle with my doggie who is my constant companion...
As the year comes to an end, i am very much hoping the new year brings good things, lots of pretty yarn, peace within my mind and the world......

So, that done, i can now go back to my baby blankies..I want to finish and send it off to Pine Ridge..I still have to do one more scarf for a special friend who is going through a bad time right now..I am hoping it will bring a smile to her face when she gets it..

Oh my God, i had such a great surprise a few days ago...I got a gift card of 20 dollars to Joanns for much needed yarn...I have never gotten anything like this......I was so shocked and happy...What a beautiful and generous gift from a friend...She knows i crochet for charity and knew i was running low on yarn and no money to get any for a while...I was so excited and shocked i cried..
I still have not gone to Joanns, hope to go this week...I need yarn to finish a scarf, and need to get yarn for baby blankies...This card is so much apreciated...I am deeply grateful to my friend for her generosity..

well, things are going here, not much to tell..I have been trying to keep busy and do things for Pine Ridge and some of my other charities...Depression has knocked on my door again, and its not a pretty sight...I seem to dwell on things too long, its breaking me down and i hate it....
well, dont want to bring any one down with me....
just checking in to say, i am here and trying to keep my hands busy crocheting for good causes..

The horror of NO will be in my mind for ever, as is the horror of 9/11 and other disasters...I am so sad for all those poor people who lost everything, some their lives...I cant even imagine whats its really like over there and what they are going through..
My prayers are with all of them and the people trying to help and the overwhelming times ahead...
My heart goes out to all the people who are going through this horrendous time...

Well, i got a ghan done for Pine Ridge, doing a baby blankie now for them also...this is my Onesmallthing.org contribution..I wont stop there, there is much to be done still.. i will continue doing some ghans and blankies for them..
I cant beleive that July is gone already..Wow, the summer has flown by so quik..
I am excited, i am getting a new printer..Small things excite me..lol
now i can, hopefully, print more crochet things..My printer is old and was on its last legs..

Happy 4th America!!!!!
Didnt do anything today...I cleaned yesterday did laundry, swept the yard and went to Joann's and got some happy yarn..:-) I just finished a mint green baby blankie and will start on a new one tonight or tomorrow..Today i have been trying to weave all the ends in of the two baby blankies and hats i made..Oh man, how i hate to weave those ends...Now i fear changing colors....:-)
Its been a lovely day, got my dog near me, got a hook in my hand, what more could you ask for? its been warm here, but not too hot..i cant stand hot..
I was looking forward to the Twilight Zone marathon, but i guess its not on this year..I have not seen it..Oh well..

thanks guys for your coments....I love doing them for the kids..I have finished doing the baby blankie and i am doing another one...I did a few more hats, and now working on the new blankie..
Ro, my doggie is my constant companion, i love her so much..Never having a dog, when i got her i simply fell madly in love..
Cindy, no its not the buble stich, its a very simple shell stich that i learned right away cause it was so easy to do..Because of this stich i got into crocheting, i had almost given up, cause my ghans were so uneven, but with this stich you cant mess up..
Leah, as you can see i have finished, and i can give you the pattern, i bought a baby book and it had this pattern..I will email you the pattern..You all do such beautiful crochet work.... I rely on this pattern alot to do the baby blankies, cause its one i can do...I still cant do a lot of projects, like a poncho and other things..But it does make me happy i can do this pattern with no problems and that i am able to donate my work to my charities.

almost finished with my pink blankie...I think i will put a white border around it...
Its warm here today, but not to bad....The bad think is all the earthquakes!!! Its so scary and i hate it..There is no warning, they just come...So far,i have not heard of anyone getting hurt, thank God for that..I just hope it stops, it rattles my nerves so..
Hope this weekend there will be lots of crochet time for me...I sent in my hats and scarves to the Dulaan project...They should of gotten it by now...Hope the kids will like it...I have a few more blankies to send out, but i will wait until i finish this one..

Ok, the box for the Dulaan project is ready to send out..I made 2 more hats and 5 scarves...The box is loaded, wish i had a bigger box..
But tomorrow i am going to be sending it to Arizona...
I now am working on a baby blankie for St. Jude childrens hospital..I think i will make some booties, hope they turn out ok..
Its such a happy feeling to crochet for charity...

It was a nice day here today, sunny, although a bit windy..My friend got the ghan i made and she love it...I am happy to hear that...
i started a new ghan, will post a pic when finished...
I went driving to the beach, parked the car and sat there and worked on my new ghan..It was so nice, just to sit there and watch the people and boats going by and crochet..Never done that before, it was nice..
after this ghan, i want to do a few more blankies for my charities..
On the diet front, i am back on track and lost 4 pounds....Many more to go, but at least its a start..
wish i could crochet like some of you, you all do such beautiful work..
MomaChet, i still cant comment on your blog...Hope you find a way to make it work soon..
i recently found a few crochet blogs and a few knitting blogs i frequent...You get to see lots of beautiful work in these blogs..

Its sunny, but windy here...I finished my friends ghan, and now i am doing a lap ghan for donation...Then will start a new big granny square ghan, also for donation to Warm Up America, one of my charrities...
I need to send in the baby blanket to Project Linus...I need to replenish my yarn stash...I might order from the Knitting Warehouse,not sure...Wish Michaels would get more yarn in, they are so bare or just have the same colors over and over..

What a beautiful hot day it was today...Although i dont like hot days, love the winter much more, it was simply beautiful...
I guess cause we had record rain this year, i got sick of it and longed for the sun...
My doggie has been really clingy lately, dont know why..She is not sick, she plays a lot, but is never far from me...I took her to the store with me, she stayed in the care, while i went in...I dont much like to do that, always scared that some one will snatch her from the car..
I still dont know how to put up the blogs i frequent in my blog..
Maybe some day i will learn....
I started a new ghan...I am giving this to a friend who has gone through breast cancer...I hope she likes it...i will put up a pic later..
watching sinefeld and wating for House Hunters..Hope i dont fall asleep watching Without a Trace, love that show, but seldom do i ever watch the whole thing..Going to try though...:-)

Ok, so i finished a preemie ghan, and decided to put a border on it...The problem is the border coming out weird, wavy, just weird..
any suggestions what i am doing wrong? maybe too many stiches? i will go unrevel it and see what else i can do..

i was almost finished with my ghan when i saw a booboo, 22 rows down...I was pissed.... its like almost starting all over...:-(
oh well, no use in crying, just have to get it done, then i can start on the preemie blankie i want to do...Then i want to do a big granny square ghan, so many things to do, not enough hours in the day..
The michaels i frequent for yarn, is really getting on my nerves...They never have a good selection...I went in today, and the yarn bins were very empty...Yes, they were having a sale, and that might be one of the reasons, but even with no sale, the bins are pretty sparce...I told the manager, but it looked like she could care less..I guess i need to go to Wallmart more often...Wish there was a yarn store close by, no such luck!!!!!

Well, i tried a million times to get the weather pixie to go on my blog, with no luck..I give up...i dont know why its not showing up...
Started a new ghan in a new pattern...I got the pattern off the Gods Tiny Angels site..Its a cute and simple pattern...
Going down to Wall-Mart tomorrow, i hope...I want to see if they have different colors than Michaels...I hope they have new colors, getting tired of the same ones i keep seeing at Michaels..
I ordered a catalog called Patternworks, heard its really spiffy..Its expensive, so i will just be looking...
It was a glorious sunny day today...With all the rain we have been getting, this was a very welcome change..But, rain is going to come down again on Monday...I am tired of it...I want Spring to come..

Its so windy still today, but when the rain stopped, i left to go to Michaels..I didnt want to go to the Michaels at the mall, which has more of a selection, so i went to the one by my house..
Well, why did i bother????? i dont know why Michaels is not coming out with new colors...Its the same yarn for the last 6 months...I need to go to the one farther away and see if they still have the Ocean color...Love that color and i should of gotten more when i was up there...i so regret it..
well, i completed my squares for exchanges, now on to the baby blanket i have been doing...i think i might add a white border to this blankie, not sure yet...
almost time to watch House Hunters, so, will go watch tv..

Its a raining Saturday...Its been raining since last night, off and on all day also..Its supposed to continue until Wednesday...Its a great day to stay at home and crochet...
I cleaned up around the house yesterday, so, i could have more crochet time today....I am doing some 6 inch squares for a group i am in.. Once i finish those, i will get back to the baby blanket i am doing..I finally know how to add pics here, but not the buttons..I am not computer experienced enough to do that..I dont understand that stuff at all, wish they would make it simple, where you just point and click and viola....Maybe some day.....

well today had been a good day..I finished my ghan last night and i like the way it turned out...Cant wait to send it in to Afghans for Afghangs charity...I found a great site today, cafepress and i saw a few chrochet totes i just cant do without..:-) i ordered 2, and a few magnets...I wish i could of ordered the coffee mug, but didnt have anymore money to spend....:-(One of the totes has Hooker on the front with a crochet hook, so cute...Cant wait untill i get it..
I am now doing a baby blanket, love it...I love crocheting for charity, its a wonderful feeling..
